Mitchell River
Within Brooklyn, there is an extraordinary range of topography and a steep rainfall gradient.
The property extends from some of the highest and most rugged mountains in the Wet Tropics (rising to nearly 1,200 m) to the plains of major streams, including the Mitchell River, flowing west to the Gulf of Carpentaria.
The climatic variation within the property is also remarkable, with rainfall ranging from 4,000 mm (160 inches) to less than 900 mm (36 inches).
