Mt Zero/Taravale Sanctuary
The Mt Zero-Taravale Sanctuary covers 60,000 ha (150,000 acres) adjacent to the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area in north Queensland.
Located approximately 60 km north-west of Townsville, the sanctuary straddles the boundary of the Wet Tropics Bioregion and the Einasleigh Uplands Bioregion.
The nearest town is Paluma, which is 15 km east of the Mt Zero-Taravale boundary. The drive from Townsville to Mt Zero-Taravale, via Paluma, takes about 2 hours.
