Landscape Context

Scotia Landscape map

Scotia, although significant in its own right, is located within a broader landscape of areas dedicated to conservation. To the west Scotia is bordered by Danggali Conservation Park, to the south by Tarawi Nature Reserve, and on the north eastern side by Nanya Station which is owned by Ballarat University and is managed as a conservation reserve. The remaining boundaries are with pastoral properties producing sheep and goats.

A working group has been established amongst the managers of the protected areas to ensure cooperative management, particularly in relation to issues such as fire management.
