Conservation of Priority Species

Malleefowl
Dakalanta Sanctuary
There are many species of Australian wildlife that are still found on the Australian mainland, despite the host of changes inflicted upon the environment by humans, and are threatened with extinction. AWC therefore regards as a priority the conservation of threatened species such as the Malleefowl, that have persisted, albeit in low numbers, in the face of introduced predators, land clearing and other threatening processes.
An example of this program can be found at the following AWC sanctuary/sanctuaries;
