On 1 November, 2008, Exterra and Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) announced an exciting new partnership that will make a vital contribution to the conservation of northern Australia's threatened wildlife and ecosystems.

Exterra is an innovative, environmentally friendly, non-toxic termite interception and baiting system. It is the leading brand in Australia for urban termite colony elimination. This system was launched in Australia in August 2002 and is now distributed in 28 countries around the globe. Ensystex's vision is to be "the first choice for environmentally responsible, effective, long-term pest management solutions."

Concerned by the continuing decline of wildlife and ecosystems in northern Australia, and in keeping with its commitment to the environment, Exterra was inspired to act. The result is an exciting new model that leverages Exterra's leading market position to promote the partnership, and the need to conserve Australia's beleaguered wildlife, nationally. For example, Exterra will drive a national competition whereby the winners will have a rare opportunity to spend a weekend with the AWC team at an AWC sanctuary.

With the overwhelming support of an extensive network of specially trained Professional Pest Managers, Exterra has set an ambitious target to sell 5000 product installments in the first year of this partnership. Contributions from the sale of each installment will be donated to AWC to secure 10 hectares (22 acres) of threatened wilderness in northern Australia. This will soon mount up and, once this goal is reached, will secure over 50,000 hectares (110,000 acres) of precious northern Australian wilderness for an entire year.

This will be a very exciting outcome for conservation and demonstrates that corporate support can make a significant difference to the future survival of Australia's endangered wildlife.
