 Visitor's programs Karakamia sanctuary
| On-ground conservation programs are well established at Karakamia sanctuary, having been implemented over the past 10 years, with considerable support from its donors. AWC’s key management priorities at Karakamia sanctuary include:
- A major mammal reintroduction program, with translocations of surplus fauna to bolster local declining populations;
- Implementation of a fox, feral cat and rabbit control program;
- Development and implementation of a fire management strategy with the restoration of biodiversity as the primary objective;
- Rehabilitation of degraded areas;
- Weed control, particularly preventing reinvasion;
- The development and implementation of dieback control;
- Long-term biological surveys to monitor changes in flora and fauna distribution and abundance.
