We did it! We reached our Matching Challenge goal of $3 million!

Thank you for your incredibly generous support for Australian Wildlife Conservancy over the last financial year. Your support enables the delivery of measurable conservation outcomes at scale. With your support, AWC is:

  • Delivering practical conservation land management programs informed by world-class science, including Australia’s largest field ecology program.
  • Collaborating and working at scale, using AWC’s model to deliver and influence effective conservation across more than 12.9 million hectares (1.7% of the Australian landscape).
  • Undertaking strategic research to find solutions to the biggest threats to biodiversity. In the last year AWC scientists and research partners have published 31 peer-reviewed articles on research carried out on AWC sanctuaries, including publication of findings from AWC’s feral predator research program at Scotia Wildlife Sanctuary.

A heartfelt thank you from the team across the country – we simply couldn't do it with you! Pictured – teams in the Kimberley (WA), at Yookamurra (SA) and Mount Zero–Taravale (QLD) wildlife sanctuaries (top of article). Alexandra Ross, Erin Liddell/AWC

AWC’s approach entails measuring, monitoring and reporting (and refining when necessary). Over the last year, AWC has:

  • Undertaken translocations of nine mammal species across four sanctuaries and partnership areas, spanning three states and territories.
  • Undertaken more than 280,000 trap nights to monitor the presence, abundance and health of native species – contributing to the science and Ecohealth programs – and monitor feral predators.
  • Removed 11,246 feral predators and herbivores.
  • Delivered effective fire management across more than 7.5 million hectares.

Australia’s wildlife and habitats are facing many challenges and there is still a great deal of work to do, but AWC’s conservation model is delivering high impact results at scale.

On behalf of the whole AWC team, thank you for your incredible support
