Landscape Context
Yookamurra is bordered on three sides by privately owned land. Properties are typically small (30ha) and are mainly used as weekend retreats or hobby farms. Many of these properties are under Heritage agreements which ensure that no further vegetation clearing can occur on these properties.
To the north Yookamurra is bordered by the Moorunde Nature Reserve, a 2,500 ha reserve owned by the Natural History Society of South Australia. This reserve is primarily for the preservation of habitat for the Southern Hairy Nosed Wombat.
