Feral herbivore control at Dakalanta

Feral herbivore control at Dakalanta

Rabbits occur on Dakalanta, usually co-habitating with Wombats.  Six rabbits were shot and approximately 100kg of rabbit bait was laid in 2017 to control rabbits around the direct seeded revegetation. This was successful in substantially reducing rabbit browse impacts.

Goats and two species of feral deer also occur in low numbers in the region and are shot opportunistically. Eight goats and two deer were shot during 2017.
