Give Hope to Australia’s Wildlife

Brighton D'Rozario/AWC

On the 22nd June 2024, The Transcend 65km/40km/6km Hike or Run event will take over the Avon Valley, WA. This trail will take majority of participants through the spectacular Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary, which forms an important wildlife corridor along the Avon River, between Walyunga and Avon Valley National Parks. The property supports a rich diversity of habitats and has been the site of several successful mammal reintroductions, including the Black-flanked Rock-wallaby and the Tammar Wallaby.

Paruna is owned and managed by Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) and our team of dedicated field ecologists and land managers are continuing to deliver some of Australia’s most ambitious and important conservation projects across the country.

Transcend Trails has partnered with AWC to help raise funds to support the critical conservation of Australia’s threatened wildlife and the beautiful habitats in which they live. Every Transcend participant is challenged to fundraise a minimum of $20 for AWC to support this vital work. Leading the way with the AWC fundraising, Transcend race director Shane Johnstone will be aiming to run the 1000km Bibbulmun Track in under 10 days. Shane will be commencing on Good Friday and you can support this challenge by donating today.

Donate now to help purchase the vital equipment and resources that are needed to protect our wildlife from extinction.

$20 supports rewilding projects and helps purchase camera trap SD cards for use in inventory surveys at AWC sanctuaries.

$50 will provide field staff with a field shirt designed to protect them in Australia’s rugged landscapes/

$100 will purchase a cage trap for catching feral cats.

$250 will purchase equipment for spotlighting surveys.

$500 will fund a senior ecologist to carry out inventory surveys on an AWC sanctuary for one day.

As part of your Transcend registration, your donation or fundraising campaign will help AWC protect our wildlife from extinction.

Your gift to AWC will support landscape-scale conservation activities – getting boots on the ground to ensure our threatened wildlife and the habitats in which they live are effectively conserved. Share with friends and family and together we can protect and restore Australia’s unique biodiversity.

AWC is implementing a science-based model for conservation that delivers high-impact results. AWC is successfully halting the decline of threatened wildlife and restoring populations of species like the Numbat, Bilby and Purple-crowned Fairywren across a large network of sanctuaries and partnership areas. Importantly, we are producing a high ecological return at a low cost. For more information on how your gift is used, view our latest Impact Report.
